The Salt Lake City Mission serves disadvantaged people in the Salt Lake area through a Christ-centered, holistic program. Our primary goal is to restore these people to right relationships with God, their family and society. We do this through crisis intervention and Biblical counseling with strategic support of concerned churches, organizations, individuals and businesses.

The Salt Lake City Mission offers long-term recovery for men in two ways: UpWord Motion Program in Salt Lake City and Second Chance Ranch Program in Box Elder County.

Financial:

To provide housing for our mentors, and the men in our long term recovery programs;
(1) UpWord Motion
(2) Second Chance Ranch
which includes Payroll for Staff, Propane, Electricity, Water, Garbage, Natural Gas, Fuel for Automobiles and Ranch Equipment. We also help in medical expenses when necessary. We care about these men and want them to be able to concentrate on what they came to the mission for with as little distractions as possible.

Automobiles:

Our vehicles are used quit extensively. We make sure the men are able to keep all appointments as they take care of things in their lives, medical, court, our daily outreach at The Road Home, etc... Which means we bring men in from our ranch also. Periodically we need to have our vehicles put in for diagnostics to determine if we are able to do the work ourselves or need a mechanic. A mechanical shop that would work with us would very much be appreciated and parts.. 

Building Materials:

Our ranch has the greatest needs for building materials. We have three mobile homes that are being refurbished for housing, class rooms, and office. We have plans for a chicken coup. The eggs from the chickens are used to feed the men in our programs and to the people who come to our daily outreach, for breakfast. Concrete is needed for two metal structures. Grain storage bins. Fencing material.

Computers/Laptops:

We are looking for laptop donations as we are working on enhancing our programs to include a three year after care program to provide education for the men to include computer literacy, high school completion, train some for continued mission work in the USA or even internationally.
